\nDrinking by young people poses enormous health and safety risks. The consequences of underage drinking can affect everyone\u2014regardless of age or drinking status.
\nWe all feel the effects of the aggressive behavior, property damage, injuries, violence, and deaths that can result from underage drinking. This is not simply a problem for some families\u2014it is a nationwide concern.
\nThe National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism is teaming up with the National Institute on Drug Abuse for the annual National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week\u00ae (NDAFW) held January 22\u201327, 2019. NDAFW is a week-long national health observance that brings together teens and scientific experts to SHATTER THE MYTHS\u00ae about substance use and addiction. If your community is interested in holding an alcohol-focused event for NDAFW, we have resources to assist you in planning your event or promotional activity. NDAFW 2020 will be March 30 - April 5.
\nCheck out some of the activities below for ideas and for help with planning your National Drug and Alcohol Facts Week\u00ae event or promotional activity. It\u2019s going to take some work\u2014but if you can pull it off, your event is going to be awesome and it might just save some lives!
\nNOTE: Be sure to read our privacy notice out loud to the audience before your event. Also, NIDA would love to see your NDAFW images! Please include the \u201cSHATTER THE MYTHS\u201d Photo and Video Request (PDF, 3MB) release form with any photographs, audio files or videos that you share with NIDA.
